The `Lennox Inn and Tavern` opened in 1791 and is one of the only remaining Georgian structures in the UNESCO Heritage Site of Lunenburg true to its original, architectural detail, and is unique in the province. It has operated as a road house continuously since it was built, eventually evolving into a boarding house before being saved and restored by it`s present owner, making it the oldest operating, British-Colonial Inn in Canada. Two floors totaling 3,000 sq. ft., the potential for an additional 750 sq. ft. of living space on the third, and a full height stone basement with further potential for development, make this the largest Georgian house in town. The large rooms, original floors, nine fireplaces, eighteenth century wainscoting, paneling and moldings lend for a rich, period atmosphere, a few minutes stroll to amenities and the harbour front.
